Traditions
Christian Soldiers Club
Christian Soldiers Club (CSC) is a monthly program for all students in grades K3 - 5. Our program is held on the fourth Thursday of each month. Parents and grandparents are invited to attend CSC to see and hear students recite poems, passages of Scriptures and other seasonal skits. Our students work diligently to memorize their poems and Scriptures each month, and CSC is a great practice of public speaking skills for our students. Christ Soldier uniform is required on this day.
Victory Drill
Victory Drill is a part of our phonics program in grades 1 and 2. In order for students to comprehend effectively, their reading needs to be fluent. Each night a child will study a page of the Victory Drill Book. At school, the student will be timed to see how many words he/she can read in a minute. Each student works at his/her own pace. All students start at 20 words a minute as their goal. Students' goals increase over the year as their reading improves.
Chapel
We offer four weekly chapel services, each geared towards a specific age group: Pre-K, Elementary and Upper School, which consists of middle and high school. Each Elementary chapel consists of students singing worship songs, the Chapel leader leading a discussion about Bible stories, character traits, etc. Upper School chapels consist of worship, games, testimonies and local guest speakers.
Blessing Buddies
Blessing Buddies is a mentor program that all students participate in once a month. This program pairs a middle school or high school class with an elementary class. Each student is assigned a "Blessing Buddy" from that class that they meet with each month & do a variety of special activities with. K4 is paired with 6th grade, Kindergarten is paired with 7th grade up until 5th grade being paired with the senior class. It's a great way to build relationships within the school community.
MS Outdoor School
Students in grades 6-8 are encouraged to attend our annual Middle School Outdoor School. Studies have shown increased returns in students who experience learning outside of the classroom. While there, students take part in team-building exercises, outdoor learning activities, games, devotions and special services featuring worship and a sermon. Outdoor School has been a consistently positive experience for students in past years, and we are confident this trip will be a great opportunity for our students to build relationships and grow spiritually.
HS Retreat
Students in grades 9-12 are encouraged to attend our annual Upper School Retreat. During this 3 day retreat, students are housed in dorm-style cabins along with Upper School staff as chaperones. Students take part in team-building exercises, outdoor activities, games, devotions and special services featuring a guest worship team and speaker. Our school retreats have been a consistently positive experience for students in past years, and we are confident this trip will be a great opportunity for our students to build relationships and grow spiritually.
Senior Trip
Each Spring, Grace Academy sends our senior class missionaries out to all parts of the world to reach the unreached for Jesus. After careful prayer and consideration, and journeying our missionaries to various locations, Grace has settled on the Quest for Quito. Each year we will send our senior class missionaries to Quito, Ecuador. Our very own missionaries will travel to Ecuador where they will build relationships and share the gospel with the children of the community while assisting with a local soccer camp. They will also work alongside local pastors as they collect and distribute basic necessity items to the surrounding Quichua tribe. Before you know it, your student will be a senior embarking on the Quest for Quito!
